@ The Notting Hill Arts Club
"Ecletic" seems to be the catch-phrase of the subterranean night club Notting Hill Arts Club, in London, with a range of different nights playing funk to hip hop or indie. The crowd is diverse, from dreadlocked students to occasional celebrities. Some of the best-known nights are the indie/punk Death Disco, the boogie/soul YoYo and the electro/house Disco Geisha (with DJ Tomoki Tamura and DJ Kikiorix).
At the NHAC I saw live the british world music band Oi Va Voi, a gipsy-jazzy band from Romania called Mukka, and the Talkin' Trotsky Blues Project. In the same place we can see some exibhitions, mostly on Photography, Illustration and Cartoon. The NHAC's bar provides only wines from New World regions, and, to confuse things even more, all the beers come from Turkey, Lapland and Peru! One thing is sure: you'll never get bored here!
